Exercises for Wheelchair Users

There are several exercises that can be performed while seated in a wheelchair, including:
Arm Circles: Hold your arms straight out to the sides, rotate them in large circles, and then reverse the direction. Repeat this exercise 10-15 times.
Shoulder Blade Squeeze: Bring your shoulder blades together and hold for a count of three. Release and repeat 10-15 times.
Upper Body Twist: While seated, twist your torso to one side and then the other. Repeat this exercise 10-15 times.
Wrist Stretches: Hold your arms out in front of you with your palms facing down. Use your other hand to gently pull your fingers towards your wrist and hold for a count of three. Release and repeat with the other hand.
Ankle Pumps: While seated, raise and lower your heels in a pumping motion. Repeat this exercise 10-15 times.
Foot Taps: While seated, tap your foot up and down. Repeat this exercise with the other foot.
Remember, it's important to consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise program, and to make sure that your wheelchair is stable and secure. Start with a few repetitions and gradually increase the number as you feel more comfortable.
